How much do you hate your ex? Do you feel nauseated when you hear their name? Then here’s something that might make you feel good. This Valentine’s Day, a zoo in Texas has offered to name the cockroaches and rats that will be fed to its animals after people’s exes.

Yup, as strange as it might sound, you can get the satisfaction of watching your ex’s name shared with a soon-to-be-eaten roach or a rat. As part of San Antonio Zoo’s second annual ‘Cry Me A Cockroach!’ fundraising event, patrons can donate $5 to name a cockroach or, for the first time, pick a veggie option for the herbivores. For $25, they can name a rat for the various birds, reptiles, and mammals to eat.
Now in its second year, the zoo’s “Cry Me a Cockroach” fundraiser and event was launched on Jan. 19 and will remain open through the month of February.
Last year, over 5,000 “somewhat bitter” donors from 25 countries, every state, and more than 2,000 cities named a cockroach or rat for their ex, according to the zoo.

“We are very excited to be bringing this incredibly popular fundraiser back this year,” President and CEO Tim Morrow said.
“It gives guests not only the opportunity to forget someone who may have wronged them but also a direct link to the care of our animals. These feeder insects and humanely pre-frozen rodents are already a part of our animals’ typical diets. Although small, they really are the unsung heroes of the food chain.“
You will be able to see the feeding frenzy on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, on their social media pages.
