It’s been more than 6 months since Prince Harry and Megan Markle stepped down from their roles as senior royals. As they settle in this new life and work on their careers, there are — 10 royal family members from all over the world who have regular jobs.
1. Princess Eugenie
Princess Eugenie is the younger daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York. (Prince Andrew is the third child of the Queen) Her wedding to Jack Brooksbank was talked about for weeks but did you know that Princess Eugenie has a normal regular job? She is the art director of Hauser & Wirth. According to an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she’s had a passion for art since she was “very little.”
2. Princess Beatrice, Countess
The elder daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Beatrice recently married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The Mozzi family is one of the oldest Italian families and therefore, she was bestowed upon the title of ‘Countess’.
Princess Beatrice like her sister has a job in the finance and consulting industry. She is currently working in a software company Afiniti as the Vice President of Partnerships & Strategy.
“Beatrice is responsible for the management of the strategic Afiniti partnerships as well as company growth through unique initiatives and client development,” her company bio reads.
3. Prince Nikolai of Denmark, Count of Monpezat
Prince Nikolai, a member of the Danish royal family is just 21 years old. He’s the oldest grandson of Queen Margrethe and oldest son of Prince Joachim and former wife Alexandra, the Hong Kong-born Countess of Frederiksborg.
In 2018, he made his debut at London Fashion Week. After that, he opened the recent Dior Homme 2020 show. In an interview, Prince Nikolai mentioned that modeling wasn’t his main priority.
He said, “I do not want a career as a model. I’d rather look at it as a job, which can help me along the way while educating me.”
4. Zara Tindall
Zara Tindall is an equestrian champion! Following her mother’s (Princess Anne) footsteps, Zara won Eventing World Championship in 2006. She also won 2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year (her mother won in 1971).
In 2012, she carried an Olympic flame at Cheltenham Racecourse & won a silver medal presented to her by her mother.
5. Prince Philippos of Greece & Denmark
Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark is the youngest child of King Constantine II of Greece and Anne-Marie of Denmark. He is currently a hedge fund manager and an analyst at an alternative investment group called Ortelius Capital.
6. King Willem-Alexander, Netherlands
When the king of the Netherlands was young, he did his service in the Royal Navy and is a pilot. In one of the interviews, King Willem-Alexander said that he works as a “guest pilot” for a commercial airline. He’s been flying under the radar for many years.
7. Peter Philips
His mother, Queen’s only daughter, Princess Anne had rejected the offer of a royal title for her children in an effort to give them normal childhood.
He has held a number of positions at Jaguar, Williams Racing, and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Currently, Philips is the Managing Director at the sports and entertainment company, SEL UK Ltd.
8. Princess Michael of Kent
She was born as Baroness Marie Christine von Reibnitz. Married to Prince Michael of Kent, Princess was initially an interior designer before becoming an author. She has written several books and does lecture tours as well as supports her husband in his public duties.
9. David Armstrong-Jones, 2nd Earl of Snowdon
Son of Queen’s sister Margaret, David Jones is unlike his parents. Margaret who was one of the senior royal family members had led quite a different lifestyle.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, he said that he loved the “avant-garde” furniture his father made and that love of furniture ultimately led him to open his furniture company.
10. Princess Marie-Chantal, Crown Princess Of Greece
Before Marie was married to the Crown Prince of Greece, she was interning with Andy Warhol. But marriage to a Prince didn’t stop her.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, she said, “When I was pregnant, I started to get itchy feet again. And I was desperate to do something on my own merit.”
That led to the launch of a clothing line which is also named Marie Chantal. She is working as the CEO and creative director.
“It gives me my independence. It gives me incredible pleasure and focus. And it belongs to me 100 percent.”
