Puerto Rican photographer Omar Z. Robles has shot a gorgeous collection of various ballerinas’ photos with a hint of a personal backstory. After visiting Mexico, New York, and Cuba, the Puerto Rican photographer went back home for this project.

He invited these local ballerinas to participate in this shoot as he wanted to capture them in various urbanized spots. However, a key point to note is that the history of the background adds compassion to these images. He visited various spots of his youth when he was trying to cope with family hardship and captured the nostalgia of past times.

“These photographs carry a weight far more important than any other place I’ve visited recently. These photos are the way I bring home back with me,” said the Puerto Rican photographer.
