Have you ever heard that plants react to the music that’s played in the background? It’s just astonishing to see how just like humans, plants, and animals not only react to music but also seem to love it. Meet Paul Barton, the man who introduced classical music to the elephants. Barton is a British classical pianist who has played for huge audiences.
It all started when Barton moved to Thailand and his wife discovered Elephants World sanctuary. In one of his videos, he said, “We liked the sound of the place being a retirement center for old, injured and handicapped former logging and trekking elephants. So we paid them a visit. I wondered if these old rescue elephants might like to listen to some slow classical music.“
He asked the employees of the sanctuary if he could bring his piano and they said yes. The first time he played in the Elephants World, a blind elephant stopped eating his breakfast as he was listening to Beethoven.
Despite the fact that some animals in his audience are old and can’t see when they listen to his music, they are a part of our world.
Barton shares his experiences with these giant creatures on his YouTube channel and on Facebook.
