Brazilian Photographer Uses Fireworks To Make Light Paintings Of Trees

Some photographers are so imaginative and inspiring that we can’t stop but adore their beautiful work. One such photographer has caught our eyes.

Brazilian photographer, Vitor Schietti uses fireworks and slow shutter speed to capture fairy-like trees that seem to be dancing with the light. He has named his entire photography series known as Impermanent Sculptures that incorporates a technique called the ‘light painting’.

These magic-like images are a result of a delicate photography process that goes behind Schietti’s lens. To create light paintings, Schietti perfectly sets his exposures with the perfect timings. He uses fireworks to produce the streaks of light, that upon capturing with slow shutter speed, gives the magical images of the trees. But, the work doesn’t end here, he also composites images together using photoshop.

Schiettie tells My Modern Met, “I use a neutral density filter to find the perfect balance between the brightness of the sparkles and the natural light by twilight, so it’s a fine and limited balance, only a few minutes each day.”
