A few of Mexico’s famous wrestlers all masked-up arrived at one of Latin America’s largest markets. Why you ask? In order to encourage people to wear a mask and cover their faces amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
A group of wrestlers was heard shouting – ‘Put on your face mask! Be responsible!’.
All those who resisted to wear a mask, were sprayed down with a disinfectant. Now that’s one way of making people comply to precautions.
Well, what can we say. Some superheroes wear capes, some wear a mask.
Professional wrestler Cyclone Ramirez Junior, said:
“We must keep fighting. The campaign is so people know they can’t stop fighting (against the virus), that they need to keep wearing masks and using gel. This fight isn’t over, we’ve got to give it more.
People still don’t believe in this virus despite so many deaths there have been, so many situations that have happened in the world, but I believe we feel committed with society.“

He continued on, “People look up at us, they are drawn to our masks and I think it helps to make them slightly more responsible.
We can be an image and help society to continue becoming aware that this virus is still very strong, we still have to work hard so that this ends. It takes a long time and I think that we as wrestlers and as public figures we have to help.“
This is a first, and honestly it might seem funny, but the message being tried to put across is stronger and much-needed.
