70-Year-Old Traffic Jam In A Forest Looks Like It’s Straight Outta An Apocalyptic Flick

These ghostly images might look like a scene from the movie “Walking Dead,” but they were actually taken at one of the biggest car junkyards in the world, the Chatillion Car Graveyard, Belgium.

These cars were left here by the US soldiers during World War II, who couldn’t ship them back because of the high shipping cost. So it was decided to leave these cars there only to retrieve them after the war.

The cars were driven up a hill, one by one, nicely parked and hidden from the outside world. Locals say, at a point, there were 4 car graveyards in Chatillon with over 500 cars left behind.

However, most of these cars were stolen, and later in 2010, the whole graveyard was removed due to environmental reasons.

These ghostly images tell us that this is how our Earth will look if humans were no longer be living on this planet.

This place looked as if a traffic jam ended in an apocalyptic problem, causing people to flee their vehicles.

Good for us that photographers Rosanne de Lange, Marcel Wiegerinck, and Theo van Vliet took these images of the car graveyard before it was removed, and leaving us these eerily beautiful photographs of the Chatillon Car Graveyard.
