Endlessly scrolling and wondering what to watch? Just want a good show to watch? Then Golden Globes has made it easier for all of us. Here are a few of the TV shows that were nominated for this year.

1. The Crown

What can we say about this show? It has been well loved across the globe.

It is a historical drama series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The fourth season spans 1979 to the early 1990s and includes Margaret Thatcher’s tenure as prime minister and Lady Diana Spencer’s marriage to Prince Charles.

This year Crown won big at the Golden Globes, with the Best Television Series Drama award. Josh O’Connor won Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series (Drama). Emma Corrin won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series. While Helena Bonham Carter was nominated Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Gillian Anderson won in the same category.

2. The Mandalorian

It is the first live-action series in the Star Wars franchise, beginning five years after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983). It has become a crowd favorite. The series was nominated for the Best Television Series Drama award at the Globes.

3. Schitt’s Creek

Schitt’s Creek is a series that follows the formerly wealthy Rose family’s trials and tribulations. After Rose’s business manager embezzles the family business, Rose Video relocates to Schitt’s Creek, a small town they once purchased as a joke.

This hilarious series won the Best Television Series award in the Musical or Comedy category. Catherine O’Hara won the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series award.

4. The Queen’s Gambit

One of Netflix’s biggest shows of 2020, The Queen’s Gambit has been loved by everyone. The story follows the life of Beth Harmon, an orphaned chess prodigy on her rise to the top of the chess world while struggling with drug and alcohol dependency.

It bagged the award for the Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Anya Taylor-Joy, the main protagonist won the Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television award.

6. Ratched

The lead protagonist, Sarah Paulson was nominated in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series category and Cynthia Nixon was nominated for her role as supporting actor.

This show about a couple whose life changed overnight after a widespread disaster has an impressive cast. Both Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman, who play the leads, were nominated in the Best Performance by an Actor & Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television category. The show was also nominated under the Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television category.
